29 boxesThe bulk of the collection consists of sermons given between 1929 and 1980, many of which were delivered at the First Universalist Church, Waterloo, Iowa; the First Universalist Church, Canton, New York; and the First Parish Unitarian, Kennebunk, Maine. Also included are general correspondence and notes, plus field reports (1942-1967) for the Universalist Church of America, the Council of Liberal Churches, and the Unitarian Universalist Association
Biographical / Historical
The Rev. Edna P. Bruner received her BA and BD from St. Lawrence University in 1929 and 1931, respectively. She was the minister at the First Universalist Church, Waterloo, Iowa, from 1931 to 1941. From 1940 to 1968, Bruner was a general field worker for the Universalist Church of America, the Council of Liberal Churches, and the Unitarian Universalist Association. She held two other ministerial positions at the First Universalist Church, Canton, New York (1945-1950), and the First Parish Unitarian, Kennebunk, Maine (1968-1973). Bruner also worked as the director of the Department of Education for the Universalist Church of America from 1952 to 1954.
